Did you know about the history-making company, Air Atlanta?
#blackhistory365 #blackhistoryguardians In 1984, Air Atlanta became the first major airline in the United States that was owned and operated by African-Americans. Co-founder, Michael Hollis raised over 45$ million to launch the airline raising more startup capital than any other African-American entrepreneur in American history. The company had 400 employees and a fleet of five Boeing 727-100 jets that serviced some states including Georgia, Colorado, Florida, New York, Tennessee. The airline flew three million passengers before it shut down on April 2, 1987.
